Building the Future of African EdTech: Inside Injini’s AI Venture Builder

Artificial intelligence is reshaping education globally, but solving Africa's unique challenges requires context-driven innovation. To power this transformation, Injini (supported by Coefficient Giving) is launching the AI for Education Venture Builder & Incubation Program. This eight-month initiative supports African founding teams in taking early-stage ideas from concept to tested, market-ready AI solutions.

The program unfolds in two structured phases:

• Phase 1: Venture Build (5 Months | Nov 2026 to Mar 2027): 12 selected teams validate education challenges, build prototypes, and complete live user testing in Johannesburg.
• Phase 2: Incubation (3 Months | Apr to Jun 2027): The top 5 ventures refine their products, solidify go-to-market strategies, and receive equity-free seed capital.

Designed specifically for early-stage teams without pre-built software or live MVPs, eligible applicant teams (2+ co-founders) must be based in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho, or Eswatini.

Teams must address one of five core themes: Foundational Learning, Teacher Capacity, Learner Pathways, Inclusion & Access, or Ecosystem Engagement. The solution must use meaningful AI integrated directly into core system logic or user experience.

Founders retain 100% IP ownership, pay 0% equity, and receive fully funded travel for Johannesburg sessions. Founders commit roughly 15 to 20 hours weekly per member. Graduates gain lifetime access to Injini’s EdTech alumni network and investor ecosystem.
