Amy is the Founder & Director of Khanyisa Developmental Centre, and they are so proud to be a part of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship 2026.
Khanyisa’s upcoming EdTech solution, called Hope, will provide an educational plan and tracking tool for children with diverse learning needs. Amy started off her career working as an Occupational Therapist, where she was introduced to children with severe and moderate disabilities. Hearing the disarray of parents struggling to find a place to send their children, this led to the origin of Khanyisa Developmental Centre.Once launched, Hope will support teachers on the ground and give learners a wonderful chance to feel more supported.
Hope bridges the gaps where there are no existing special needs teaching degrees, and teachers do not always have the expertise and breadth of knowledge in an SEND classroom.
