New interactive map, launching with 70 vetted solutions, designed to be the central hub for EdTech stakeholders and drive investment.

CAPE TOWN, FEBRUARY 2026: Injini, Africa’s first EdTech Accelerator and Think Tank, has launched the African EdTech Product Map. This new interactive digital tool launches with an initial cohort of around 70 vetted EdTech companies and is designed to address a core problem: providing a single, comprehensive resource for a sector that has historically been fragmented and difficult to track.

For years, investors, funders, policymakers, and other key stakeholders have lacked a single, reliable source to find and assess EdTech innovations from across the continent. The African EdTech Product Map directly addresses this gap, with the simple aim of making the ecosystem visible, accessible, and connected.

"The African EdTech Product Map is a public resource for the entire education ecosystem," said Larry Leyden, COO of Injini. "By providing a clear and, eventually, comprehensive view of the education innovation landscape, we hope that it will lead to partnerships and investments essential to scale solutions and transform learning across the continent."

The resource is designed to support the entire EdTech value chain by transforming visibility into action:

  • Investors & Funders: Can now easily find a pipeline of companies to invest in, partner with, or support.
  • Founders & Startups: Gain the visibility needed to attract partners, investors, and new users.
  • Educators & Policymakers: Can discover new tools and assess sector needs with reliable, consolidated data.
  • Ecosystem Partners: Can identify crucial collaboration opportunities to strengthen the sector.

Vetting and Eligibility

Injini emphasises that the map's credibility is a top priority. While the tool is designed to be community-driven, it is not an open directory. Leyden noted, "The map is a living, evolving resource. The idea is that it will become a representative sample of the existing ecosystem that will grow as the ecosystem grows."

To ensure the African EdTech Product Map remains a high-trust resource, all solutions are vetted by the Injini team before being added. To ensure accuracy and relevance, all featured companies must have a verifiable digital presence and a primary focus on technology that directly supports teaching, learning, or education management. Eligible solutions must have progressed beyond the conceptual stage to be either live or in an active pilot phase. Finally, the map prioritises regional impact by requiring companies to be founded in or operate in Africa, while specifically catering to the needs of African learners.

The map is designed to expand, and Injini strongly encourages founders and organisations across the continent to add their EdTech solutions to help build the most comprehensive database of African EdTech innovation.
